An Italian wine list that runs from Gavi to Amarone

The bar at Fiena, King's Cross, with spirits shelves and mosaic floor

The wine list at Fiena runs deep into Italy's regions, as any King's Cross Italian worth its salt should. Whites start crisp, Pinot Grigio, Sicilian Grillo and Inzolia, and climb to Gavi di Gavi, with Sancerre, Albarino and a Pouilly Fuisse representing the neighbours.

The red spine

Sangiovese and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo hold the everyday end. Nero d'Avola brings Sicilian weight, Pinot Nero the perfume, and the top shelf is properly Italian: Barolo, rose, cherry and warm spice, and the Fidora Amarone, dried cherry, plum and chocolate depth. Malbec, Shiraz and a Chilean Merlot cover the rest of the map.

Bubbles and pairings

Prosecco by the glass, including the Asolo DOCG, opens most evenings here. Match the whites to our seafood linguine, the Barolo to lamb cutlets, and the Amarone to a slow Sunday. Wine is served from 10:30 daily at 4 Medway Court, Judd Street. Book a table.
